Debit Card Fraud Protection

We May Be Calling You

To protect your account, we monitor your debit card transactions for potentially fraudulent activity which may include a sudden change in locale (such as when a U.S. – issued card is used unexpectedly overseas, a sudden string of costly purchases, or any pattern associated with new fraud trends around the world.)

If we suspect fraudulent debit card use, we will email you, text you, and then call you to validate the legitimacy of your transactions. Your participation in responding to our email/text/call is critical to prevent potential risk and avoid restrictions we may place on the use of your card.

  • You will be able to respond with simple yes or no responses
  • Our automated call will ask you to verify recent transaction activity on your card.
  • You’ll be able to respond via your touchtone keypad.
  • You’ll also be provided a toll-free number to call should you have additional questions.
Our goal, quite simply, is to minimize your exposure to risk and the impact of any fraud. To ensure we can continue to reach you whenever potential fraud is detected, please keep us informed of your correct phone number and address at all times.

In the meantime, please be diligent in monitoring transaction activity on your account and contact us immediately if you identify any fraudulent transactions. An easy and convenient way to monitor your account is through online banking and the use of e-statements; contact us today for more information about these products.

As of July 24th, you will automatically receive text alerts from FSNB if we detect possible fraudulent activity on your debit card. The number from which you will receive text alerts is changing from 20733 to a different number. You do not need to enroll to receive these alerts.

Important:
For security reasons, we are not disclosing the specific number from which you will receive text alerts, helping to prevent fraudsters from spoofing our messages. Please be assured that the text alerts will always be related to specific transactions on your account and will never ask for your personal information. If you ever receive a suspicious message, please contact us at 1-800-749-4583.

Please check out our Security Education page for educational material and tips on how you can protect yourself.
